BUILD SAFETY

A sleeping platform should make camp easier—not create a new hazard.

01

Stationary use only

Never carry a person on the platform while the vehicle is moving. Remove or restrain every module and all cargo before driving.

02

Protect vehicle systems

Do not block or contact airbags, batteries, wiring, vents, seat belts, seat or child-seat anchors, latches, emergency releases, glass, fuel-system access, or controls.

03

Use rated restraints

Connect the platform and cargo only to manufacturer-rated cargo anchors using suitable hardware. Interior trim hooks are not automatically structural anchors.

04

Test progressively

Dry-build first. Apply load gradually while parked level and stop for rocking, cracking, movement, excessive flex, or distress to the vehicle floor or trim.

05

Maintain an exit and ventilation

Keep a practical emergency exit available. Never run the engine, a stove, flame, heater, or other fuel-burning appliance in an enclosed sleeping vehicle.

06

Work within your skill level

Use eye, hearing, respiratory, and hand protection appropriate to the task. Follow every tool, adhesive, finish, fastener, and vehicle manufacturer instruction.
